FUNCTIONS IN THE “ATTIC”
Located on vibrant Crown Street in Surry Hills Sydney, the “attic” is located within an 1849 heritage-listed stonemasonry workshop. The attic is a sophisticated semi-private function space ideal for birthdays, celebrations, product launches, corporate events & more. The space caters for 24 guests seated and 40 guests standing/cocktail with no minimum spend required with exception to Friday and Saturday nights. Entire venue booking options for up to 80 guests at very competitive rates also available.
Food options range from canapes through to tailored set menus allowing the host to select the groups starters, mains, sides & desserts. Drinks packages also available to explore the wines of the world… or to set a budget.

Co-owners Rhaad Fogarty and Aaron Le Saux are excited to announce the launch of MV Bistro & Wine Bar (www.mv.wine). The launch is the evolution of the brand Mille Vini taking the hospitality venture in a new direction; a collaborative idea set to reignite passion with Sydney locals, tourists and wine lovers alike. MV Bistro & Wine Bar offers a different approach, suggesting & matching seasonal modern European food to a world of wine on the bistro menu. Customers can order matched wines by the glass or bottle, or continue to choose any wine from our updated 100+ International wine list.
At the bar area, a prominent “Funky Town” board has been created featuring wines local, international and unusual changing on a weekly basis, along with a Premium Pour offering allowing by-the-glass access to wines only available by the bottle using the Coravin® wine delivery system.
Located at 397 Crown St Surry Hills, it is the new generation of a stonemason’s workshop built in 1849, changing shape and form as a draper, bootmaker & butcher, finally operating as Mille Vini in 2005 and under new ownership in 2015.
Co-owner & Managing Director Rhaad says “Mille Vini has been a Crown St staple, but as the Sydney small bar scene has evolved, I felt that Mille Vini needed to also. I love Italian wines and food… but I’m not Italian, so I felt it was time to expand our offering with other International cuisines and wines that best represent my casual and fun style of service. Mille Vini customers are what makes me love this business so I definitely want to honour the past, but look towards a broader wine & food future, therefore we decided to re-brand as MV Bistro and Wine Bar”
Co-owner & CFO Aaron says, “I wanted our wines to be approachable. I know what food I love, and I love wine – but knowing what to order on a 100+ international wine list (with many of the names I can’t pronounce).. It’s overwhelming. I wanted a bistro menu that has global wines matched by the experts… that way I can be certain I’ll enjoy the wine as much as I do the food.”
Kristin Lynch continues as head chef, but has more freedom to work with the finest produce that Australia has to offer whilst adding her flair for a modern European touch. Kristin says “A lifetime spent imbibing cultures from every corner of the globe has not only taught me regional techniques, but given me insatiable passion and love for the food I put on a plate. A true understanding of the classics, and the confidence to add my own modern twist.”
The mezzanine level has been rebranded as “The Attic”, allowing function hosts flexibility creating their own personalised set menu from within the group bistro menu. The “attric” allows for 24 guests seated and up to 40 standing, with minimum spend only applying on Friday and Saturday evenings.
